I'm looking for something fairly in expensive to start with... my school will provide anything nessicary to rebuild them.. hopefully i can talk em into some aftermarket parts.. anyway what is a good casting i would be able to aquire fairly cheap at a local boneyard?

081s and 601s are also very good to work with. Port and polish them before doing the valve job, though. Will work great on a 305 or a 350.

I have a set of 416's I'm willing to give to a worthy cause. Last I checked, shipping would be about $35/head.
I suspect they need guides. I don't know what shape the valves are in, but there were no apparent leaks at the seats. Replacing the springs would be a very good idea.
Go whole-hog: 1.94" intake valves, porting work - they'd be great performance heads.

What we are required to do is strip em down to nothin glass beed, check for warpage/cracks, add larger valves if we wanted, full port and polish, 3 angle valve job and flow test em after we're finished.. at the vary least i will pin the studs but if I can get my school to pay screw in studs machining the heads for them would be my prefered option...I also plan on gasket matching em as well... anything else you guys can think of while I'm at it? the heads will eventually make their way onto a 350... I Know new valve springs are a must but until I actually put them into service I may just reuse the old springs to complete the project then after decideing what cam will be used with these heads decided on a good set of springs at a later time... 57 check pm... would really appreciate it bro.. what ever the easiest/cheapest way for you would be fine...best of all I know just the place to ask questions and post updated photos of my work for suggestions and help
