rear hatch
rear hatch
ok heres another one I have an automatic rear hatch and it pulls the hatch down right. ok there was a stick that was in the way. so it tryed to pull it down but the stick was stopping it right. the quickly I press the release and now the thing is broke or somthing. I checked the fuse's there is power back there I checked the motor took it apart. it's stuck in the down position. and the release still works. what do you think is the problem??

theres like probably some of the stick like still in there right you need to like clean it out right. push the like release button right and like clean it out right. if you right took it apart like then you right might have to like replace the relay like right

those hatch pulldown motors are such an engineering weak point. i think gm engineers were smoking too much crack back in the 80's. there are plastic guides that can wear out and break, also the gear teeth can strip or the motor can burn out. gm sells the parts to rebuild them but you might just want to replace the unit depending how much money you want to spend.
sorry for comeing off as retarded i was in a hurry. I did not check the gear mesh. but I checked all the power leading up to the motor with a volt meter. and i disassembled most of the modual. and tested the motor it worked. when I shut the hatch it's not locking in but the little metal fingers i don't know what there called are in the correct position to except the square ring. the modual is in the down position. there is no noise from the motor when i try to shut it. so im betting on the gear teeth, my dad thinks it would be a relay for some reason. I have not found any exploded view in my book or net.
