clicking starter but different than the post below
ok my starter clicks and when i took it off like part way and i turned the key it spun.... so i was like WTF i guess its cool you know. Maybe a dead spot or something stupid right. SO i just put it back on and umm i turned the key now it just clicks and thats it. I need help please i got 3rd gens both are dead.
that happened to me once, though i don't know if it's the same problem...
...theres a black plastic endcap or something covering the solenoid, where the leads go, mine somehow was sorta loose, i just tightened it up and everything was fine, there's a screw somewhere there. disconnect the battery if you're gonna be poking around in there. it's reachable. what happened was the contact disc thingamajig wasn't making contact coz of the gap when it got loose... hope this helps

usually happens when there isnt enough juice to the starter. There is no resistance when its loose, however, there is a whole lot when its trying to turn an engine.
Check all your cables to the starter, make sure they are tight. If that isnt it, check your battery, it may be low.
