depending on how much gas is in there i would drain the tank and get rid of the old gas first..then maybe change your fuel filter after running some new gas for a while...thats just me anyways

depending on how bad the gas has gone it may cause backfires, rough idle and so on in my experiance... last time i had that situation i just dropped the tank and drained it in my 70 camaro but i had less than a 1/4 of a tank...

If it doesn't have that much in it just add new gas to it and burn off the combined mix. It shouldn't be that bad after a year. I have let gas sit much longer without any problems.

It should be fine. After you burn half of that tank add new stuff to blend it all together.

Heck...when I bought my car it was sitting for 6 years with no fuel stabalizer. There was less than 1/4 a tank so I just added some gas to thin the mixture. But I still needed to change the fuel filter. Still ran real rough though.

Use the fuel pump or siphon it. Or, you could use an electric drill, hole saw, or match to empty your tank. Those wouldn't be my first choices, though.

If the fuel is only a year old, just add fresh, low octane fuel to mix with the older, less volatile fuel.
