'86 tpi+383?
do you guys think a tpi taken from a '86 camaro can supply a 383 with enough air/fuel? with the stock ecm and perhaps upgraded injectors and runners...could 400+horses be possible?

No
The practical limit for an anywhere near stock TPI is around 300-325 HP on any size motor. It starts getting very, very hard to get much beyond that, without replacing major components. The larger the motor, the lower the RPM at which it reaches that HP (flow). The intake base is a restriction; and the length of the runners, that is to say the very design of TPI, is hostile to high HP.

well, what induction do you recommend for the 383? what's ideal? what's ideal and legal ( emissions police !)?

The only truly emissions-legal repacement is the SuperRam. That has to be a bout the hardest thing ever invented to work on though. But, depending on how not-quite-legal you can get away with in your locale, the SteathRam and the MiniRam might be better choices. Or possibly even a converted LT1 intake. The MiniRam will probably make the most power.
