need new fuel pump(spilled gas all over the street)
i have a 86 z28 305 . Today i try to start my car it didnt start it would just crank. So then i notice i sprang a gas leak. gas was just pouring out of the front end of my car. so i check it out and is my Mechanical Fuel Pump. now what i was wondering is it a hard job to do cause theres only 3 lines on it and i think 4 bolts but my real question is with which new fuel pump should i go with??? one of the guys on jegs told me that the Edelbrock Performer Fuel Pump is a good one to go with and that its better than the holly

Why doesnt the good old delco replacement from your local parts store suffice? But if it were between Holley and Edelbrock, id choose Holley.

Don't bother with either one. A stock replacement one is fine; and will hook up correctly to all your existing lines, with no adaptation required. Much, much less trouble and hacking to install.
Incidentally, it's only 2 bolts; the other 2, the smaller ones below it, you don't have to disturb.
One time, mine went out. I sent my wife down the street (3 blocks) to pick one up at Auto Zone. After she had left, I discovered I had one in stock. By the time she got back, I'd say it was 10-12 minutes, I was finished installing that one, and the car was sitting there running. So I put the one she had picked up back in stock. It was $13 well spent.
I'd guess if you loafed around, or had trouble getting the line off or something, it might take longer than that.... maybe 20 minutes or so to change it out.
