Need help dropping NOX by 250 points.

Ok, well went to get the car re-inspected today. I went a few weeks ago, and failed NOX with a reading almost double the limit. So, did some searching and figured out i needed to look at the EGR. I replaced the EGR and the EGR solinoid. Took the car back this time, and my readings were:

Standard Reading
NOX 1110 1375
HC 148 97
CO 0.83 0.15

So, i passed once again on HC and CO, but my NOX (even though it went down) is still a little bit high. It wasn't too hot out today, but the car was warmed up, and i did wait a little bit in line. I'm wondering if anyone has a way for me to drop some NOX.

I read something about adjusting the timing, but got kinda confused about it... i'm suppose to drop it back some more from 6degrees btdc? Will adjusting my fuel pressure help (i have an adjustable FPR)? Someone even said something about putting some kero into the oil to clean the engine out then changing the oil... does that work?

Just for the info.. i have an '89 camaro with the L98 and i'm trying to pass the NJ emissions.

Thanks,

Joker

As far as the timing goes, I know retarding it will decrease hydrocarbons, I would set it to the stock setting, or maybie someone has another suggestion.
Maybie go through this for the EGR, maybie you have partially clogged passages or somthing.

Doesn't the cat do Nox as well as hydrocarbons?

I wouldn't try kerosean in the oil, some people have gotten away with it fine, but someone on here did that, 2 days later it was motor swap time
