Question maybe one might know?

What would be the stock 305's HP and Rear end Torque in a Firebird (not T/A, or Formula) v8 carbed? This is a question only for the stock 305 sold off the assembly line, I don't know where to look up the info.... heh... Thanks to those who answer this question. Also does anyone know the "estimated" hp/torque drop from a manifold leak, a decent leak

All depends on the year and which carbed 305.

HP loss from a vacuum leak? Big leak=considerable loss small leak= minute loss, more of an idle issue with small leaks.

Shoot, well if there is a bad leak there is a considerable loss could it also help in a fuel air mixture problem at startup? Also I have had a studdering startup, grey smoke, smell like exaust mostly but I also smell some gas, but only at startup you can see the grey smoke from under the hood? Could that be the O2 Sensor? Maybe it just being a lazy o2 on its way out...arg. Anyways is there a place I could look it up, I know that my 305 carbed tbi 4bl.

Thanks, would you know maybe an estamated torque at the rear end? I don't know the rear, I know it's posi stock axel and drivetrain. although for an auto, I don't know if it possible with stock auto, I started in 1st (first time, thought someone was following me) jabbed into 2nd and let off gas and jab gas as I switched into ODrive, the rear "chirped" so I don't know if it is stock, or even if it should be possible for one to "chirp" the rear with an auto

Well, the stock torque was 275 on the 305 TPI's, so figure about 200 at the wheels.
Never really paid much attention to the carbed engines specs, or TBI for that matter.

WOW thanks alot, that is just what I wanted, I know it can be found on the door, but I tried to read it and it seemed to be somewhat scratched out, what is estimated stock weight of the "firebird" (1987) I guess my engine is an LG4 v8 4bl but I don't know if it is the one with 165 or 170, but it really isn't much of a difference, but the stock weight would help, alot... (estimated)
