Ok guys here is a couple questions for ya . I have a ZZ4 engine with the 88 up aluminum vette head castings . I recently finished assembling the valvetrain and something looks a little odd to me . I have the gold crane 1.6 RRs and they seem to be around the middle of the stud when installed and the lash adjusted . That means to me that it is operating about 1/3 the way up on the threaded portion of the stud . Does this sound right ? It seems to operate fine when I spin it over by hand , and I checked valvetrain geometry and it was fine . Are the studs different for 88 up heads with SA rockers ? Am I worried for nothing here ?

doesn't really matter where it is on the stud. the rocker tip to valve contact is what matters plus clearance around the retainers.
