what kind of power will i be making?
hi, i think i finally got my setup all picked out and ready to go. so i was just wondering what kinda of power i will be making with it. i have a 350 with dished pistons, ported 58cc heads, edelbrock performer intake, 600cfm edelbrock performer carb, comp cams xe268h cam (268/280 duration, 224/230@.05, .477/.480 lift, 110 degrees seperation) and headers. as for now my exhaust after headers is stock but in about a month i will buy an electric cutout and 3.73 gears. but within the next 2 or 3 days when i get some time i will order my cam and a friend of mine has the intake so how do u think my setup will do? thanks alot

My guess would be 290-310 HP @ 4,500-5,000 rpm and 360-380 ft/lbs @ 2,500 or so at the crank. Depends on if those 305 heads are stock, how much porting, have larger valves, etc.

i have spent about 9 hours in all porting my heads. the exhaust is like glass and i took out quite a bit. all i did was smoothed out everything and made it flow easier in the intake side. valves are 1.84 and 1.6's. and the intake ports are just gasket matched and stuff. also what about if i went with a crane energizer cam
2000-5000 rpm, 272 duration, 216@.05, 110 seperation, .454 lift.
would it change it alot? they are a lot cheaper so i was looking at those. thanks alot for the reply

i am still working a little on one head. but its pretty much done. i just got a new 25000 rpm electric die grinder so i removed a BUNCH of stuff really quick with that in the more open places, it left it really rough but then i went back over it with a small air die grinder to smoothe it out and to get into the small delicate spots. it worked really well and went pretty fast. and like i said i barely touched the intake sides, i just made it flow around the bowl a little better by taking out the rough edges. i still have to gasket match the intakes on both heads also. but im waiting for my intake gasket to arrive in my complete engine gasket set.
