Valve Questions, need some help
Bought these AFR 190 heads from a TGO member here a while ago and finally started to prep for install. I came across a couple things that just dont look right.
1. Pic one is obviously a bad valve, top of valve is completely round as compared to the rest and the retainer is gouged. Probally from a rocker adjusted incorrectly. Does this need replaced or will it be fine? If I need to replace, does anyone know where I can get one Manley Pro Flow valve and retainer? Everywhere I have seen sells them in sets of eight.
2. Pic #2 - How do I remove these seals? They seem to be pressed on, should I get rough with them since they are going in the garbage anyway? What is the correct method to remove the seals?
3. Looking in the EXH port, I can see a trail of oil that has leaked into the exh ports,, yes each one of them. Is this indicative of bad seals or is this normal?
Thanks for the help!

The destroyed valve looks like either a rocker came apart, a push rod bent, or something like that. It looks beyond repair to me.
Those are excellent valve guide seals. They are Teflon; the best that money can buy. They just push on. You can pop them off with a screwdirver or something. You can use the same seals on exhaust guides if you want to; in fact, they are typically sold in sets of 16.

You can buy a single valve; summit, jegs ect.. all sell them but I'm fairly sure the retainers are always sold in a set. it would be my prefrence to replace all the retainers since the springs are comming off.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to replace the seals, retainers and the bad valve. Since these heads are milled I'll check the pushrod length also.
Sure hope there was a shim or something under that spring its real hard to tell in the pic. You need something on aluminum or the spring will dig into the head.
You may be able to get away with just "butting" the end of the valve but they are cheap enough that it should be replaced.
You need a new keeper.
