new engine bad..............

got my car back friday and the new carb was bad and pouring gas down engine so u know ruined the rings............car goes back tomarrow............for another new engine.....the first one took six weeks....

i must love this car or something....

runs great but blows blue smoke like u cant believe.

well the store that i got the carb from said talk to the carb company...the carb company said ups must of dropped it....funny thing is its the second bad carb from them..............im sure i will be the one paying....i have so much money in this car already i dont think i could walk away from it now............what would u guys do??


replace it @1100 dollars or walk away?

yeah theres gotta be something else causeing this i would think because two bad carbs is not too comon but i guess it could happen ...

it has a new mechanical fuel pump on it i never thought about fuel pressure but now that the rings are washed out whats the point right?

well you should still check and see whats causing it and maybe you can get someone to have to pay for the next engine if its something they did .......

I'd figure nows a good time to start learning how to pull an engine. Not very hard just some wiring, some hoses, and a few bolts. Then you can disassemble the engine to the shortblock, take it to a machine shop have them go over it and re-ring it, reassemble the motor yourself, drop it back in, and you're done. You also have $900 left to spend on other things

yeah all honesty its pretty simple to do the whole job yourself if you have a cylnder hone you could do it yourself

i could do it myself but time is my enemy as i work six days a week..........the two carborators had different problems...first one woul load up and die speraticly at stops....the second one every time u start the car it is fludded and have to floor it to blow fuel out....

that sucks about not having time to do it but i know how it is when you have the time you dont have the money and when you have the money you dont have the time ..lol.......what kind of carbs were they ?

both carbs were quadrojunks...u know the ones with the two electrick sensors.....its the only carb i can run and be smog legal...california u know...
