cheap DYI mods?
i recently got my 1982 camaro z28 with crossfire fuel inj. and was wondering what are some modifications/adjustments i can do myself in my garage? its pretty much all stock execpt for the accel distributor, and i think exhaust.(going down the road it sounds sweet, but looks stock, and no there is no leaks) any input will help.

You could advance the base timing alittle. Other then that there isn't much you can do, with out doing major stuff.

When you say "exhaust," what exactly do you mean? Full exhaust as in headers, high flow cat, and decent cat-back? or just a cat-back? If ou have just a cat-back, i would add headers. I have SLP shorties and i like them. You could always score a set of 416 or 601 castings (cylinder heads) from the junk yard and port/polish them. They can be made to flow on par with Vortec heads. And for a 305, that's pretty good. A die grinder, a variety of carbide cutters, and a bit of patience is all that is needed there. Look up a guy named Sitting Bull. He's got some real easy to follow instructions on how to do it.
Other than that, like ME Leigh said, it get's into the more expensive nitty gritty.
