I have recently installed an Accel intake and SLP runners on my 92 Z28. I started the car and it revs to about 3000 rpms and cannot time the car with this condition. I can hear a sound coming from the passenger side of the engine that I think may be a leaking runner gasket, could this be causing the high rev condition? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Well, sprey WD40 on the intake gasket area and if the RPM's change start all over again.

Or use a cigerette (or other smoke emitting device) to see if the smoke gets sucked into the wrong places.
