Need a quick fix
My g/f's car has been acting up itsd a 4 cyl metro the mechanic said that the crank keeps brakeing bolts and need to be replaced. Tonight i was driving it back to my place and it started going clak clak clak we were going to trade in the car tommorw for a newer car any way i can get it not to make that awful sound so i can trade it into the dealer? She owes 4000 on the car and is right now pretty much screwed any ideas it sounds almsot like it threw a rod or there is somethign in there banging off the crank.
Is that a ThirdGen Metro?
Since you've already had a mechanic diagnose the problem, I'd tend to follow his/her advice and repair the problem, or you'll be stuck with a non-running, non-tradeable Metro. If the crank keeps breaking bolts, there must be something out of alignment or twisted. The mechanic has already apparently looked at it, and should be able to explain it thoroughly. There is no "fix-in-a-bottle" for a twisted or bent crank of which I am aware.
