...I made sure to put the nut back on the bolt, but have NO idea where it came from!!!

Hello Abubaca,

It is an aftermarket add-in ground obviously from a previous owner who thought he needed an extra ground. It is not stock in your car so you can remove it. The only ground that goes to that spot is the braided one.

That bolt looks identical to the ones used to bolt together the alternator housing. There is nothing like a previous owner that has done a do-it-yourself job / fabrication to stump even the best mechanics.
