I just recently sold my 88 Mustang LX 5.0 and got a 1986 Camaro Z28. I'll be honest, I kno nothing about these cars! I'm startin from scratch here. The motor is in serious need of some oil. Whats the best oil i can put in it? It's a stock L.O 305. I plan on doing a tune up. What's the best plugs, wires, filters and lubricants to use? Thanks for the help...GM all the way!

But, what exactly is a "serious need of some oil"? To add, to be changed?

I'll assume it needs to be changed. Start with most any brand of SJ-rated 10W-30 engine oil and a good filter like AC. You could use a crankcase flush before draining it. After you've had time to determine the basic condition of the vehicle you can consider some kind of synthetic.

AC plugs are fine, don't need anything fancy. Most any plug wire will do for a stock engine. If you replace the cap & rotor (probably a good idea), go for brass terminals rather than aluminum.
