HP and Tq Curves

What is the significance of the point at which the HP curve intersects with the Tq curve?

According to Dyno2000 I should see 400 HP @ 5500 and 430TQ @ 4000, the curves crossing at ~5200.

I'm close to dropping my new 383 into an F-Car (86 TA, I think, will no better this weekend)700R4 and either 3.42 or 3.73's.

The choice of converter stall (2500 or 3000) has been bugging me and am curious if the above question is a consideration.

ZIPPY,
Thanks for your response. I know that I read that somewhere before, DUH! That might tell you something about my age.

Had a guy ask me that question at a party recently and I couldn't answer it, felt stupid then too.

Interesting location, Muskegon. Hey, there's $1200 bucks up for grab at Thunderbird this Sunday.

HP is determined from TQ via a formula. From my terrible memory, hp=tq*rpm/5252
