I have an 84 L69 5-speed and when im on the highway I rev at 2500 RPMs when I am going 60 MPH, is this normal or is this revving high. What rear end did this car come with, and is it possible that a previous owner swapped it out, because what type of rear end does this sound like to you? Im thinkin 4.11's

 

3.73 was stock for L69/T5 cars, my LG4 car has 3.73's and it would wind out the little POS motor really fast.

that rpm sounds about right for your speed.

 

L69's came with 3.73 which is what you have.

FWIW i have 3.73 gears and a th350 tranny that doesn't have OD, i'm turning 3000rpm @60mph so...
