Roller cam swap question
Of course when you replace a cam you replace the lifters because of wear, but what about roller cams and roller lifters? The only wear that I could imagine is on the edge of each wheel on the lifter. The reason I ask is, if you swap out your roller cam with another, this is a 300.00 chunk of change, the roller lifters seem to be another 300.00 chunk. Thats 600 bucks for a cam swap! Thats just not worth doing to a 305... Anyone know if you have to replace those lifters and technically why?

Yup, like streetiron said, they can be reused. Roller lifters obviously have that roller bearing which takes away the big wear tear factor. That same factor is what prevents you from using new lifters with an old cam or old lifters with a new cam, in the case of a flat tappet cam.
