What can I do to get my temperature down?

Okay it is getting hot around here now. My A/C works great, but my car overheats when it is on. I will sit at about 210* when i'm going about 40-55 mph, but any faster and it starts overheating. (I have no airdam). And when I sit in traffic it will overheat. I know I need an airdam to fix the high speed overheating problem, but what can I do about sitting still. Would an electric can (or 2) and an aluminium radiator solve it? What can I do until I get the cash for this stuff? coolant flush?

Cause a fan from a V6 is the same as a Fan from a 305, and it was 9.99 and I wasnt discriminatin...

Either replace the fan clutch, or get an electric setup. If you get a new fan clutch, make sure it's the "thermostatic" ($$$) kind not the "centrifugal" (cheap POS) kind... the thermostat is clearly visible, it's a coil on the front face of it.

Whatever you do, don't get a flex fan and a spacer, that's a step backwards in cooling and will cost you many, many HP.

Ward, its the stock Radiator.

And what AC ?

But I did drive over the grape vine in 100 degree weather, and it never got over 200.

A GOOD flex fan would work great--cooling much better than a stock fan with a new clutch and taking less HP when the engine is at higher rpm. I run 190 with the A/C on in traffic. 185 down the highway. Make sure you fan clutch is kicking in when it the radiator gets hot(should be a loud roar).
Wrong timing, low idle rpm, and lean idle are some other possibilities.

My engine was overheating with the a/c on especially when at a stoplight. I installed an extra electric fan and now my overheating problems with the a/c are gone. I also went with an aluminum radiator. I am running without a termostat but I would not recommend that if you have your puter still hooked up to your engine.

Yes its my stock radiator. And Ill shoot myself before i ditch the A/C. It easily gets to 100 degrees outside here in Texas. I checked at autozone, a new alum raidator is $139.99. Ill probalby go with that and a solid fan mount.
