Now the car don't start at all??????

I think it's the fuel pump, but i just wanna make sure. nothing is comming out of the injectors at all now and i know i have a full tank. when i turn my key to the on position, i don't hear it kick in at all like i do on my other camaro. do you think that's what it is? how much is the part, and how hard is it to replace? should i just take it to someone? hope you can help.

ok, i sprayed starter fluid into it and it started right up and i drove it around. and even after i turned it off it started up, but took a little long again. what could be the problem? a clogged fuel filter maybe? dirty injectors, even though i put fuel injector fluid in a few weeks ago? i hope someone can help.

Souns like the fuel pump relay....

Once the engine is running the fuel pump gets its power from an oil pressure switch; that's why it will start on ether and keep running. It needs the relay for starting though.

Yeah unplug the relay and apply 12v to the second terminal from the right (I'm not absolutely sure, but mostly sure that's the one) if you don't hear the fuel pump hum I'd change the relay before looking into other things.

ok, i put a new relay on, and it didn't change anything, along with spraying the carb with cleaner and putting the good gas in with fuel injection cleaner. it's still cranking for ever to start, and now and then while driveing and idleing, the exhaust has alot of smoke comming out of it. not all the time, but sometimes, with a foul odor. Please Help. Could it be the fuel filter?

Have you changed your fuel filter yet? It could be bad causing flow problems.

If that's not it, It sounds like your carb might need rebuilding.
It could be your fuel pump? ..... but I don't think it would keep running after it start up if the fuel pump was going out.

Has it ever died on you while driving around?

Thomas.

My next thing to do was the fuel filter. I hope it's just that, and nothing major. Thanks for your response.

no, it never died on my while driveing around. once i get it started, it runs good. better than my other camaro. it just smokes sometimes from the exhaust, with a foul odor, with the trouble to get it started now.
