question RE: fuel line sizes

i need to reroute my fuel lines, but i dont know what the conversion is to go from example 3/8'' to AN + or-,, how the heck does this work??? I'm converting the old 3/8'' to braided lines,, as well as usingthreaded ends instead of clamps... if someone could give me a few examples or something,, that would help out alot.
