Temp control sensor placement?????

Ok long story short I broke off my CTS sensor in my manifold The sensor is now broke in half level with the manifold, I tried a extraction bit but the bit broke in half and the sensor did not budge. Anyway I realize I could remove the manifold and drill it out and retap it or even buy another manifold since I want a polished one anyway but in the mean time I have other bills to pay and was wondering if this idea will work. I have seen pics of other camaro's that have the cts sensor in the elbow above the thermostat instead of in the manifold like mine(92 RS 305 TBI) well the question is can I buy one of those elbows instead and relocate my CTS to the elbow and leave the broken one in the manifold(It is not leaking by the way) I will eventually replace the manifold but this seems like a cheap fix. The next question is will that type of elbow fit and what year camaro had that type so I can walk in to the auto parts store and ask for a thermostat housing thingy for a 19??? camaro!!!!

P.S. I know it is a dumb idea but!!!!!!!!

Should work ok about anywhere on the engine. Maybe in the driver's side head? Better on the engine side of the thermostat though. Have to lengthen wires, not a big deal.
