EGR problem

I have a 1990 camaro RS 3.1L V6. the EGR has a gasket missing which is causing a huge vaccum leak. I tried the dealer, B&M, and other stores but no one has the gasket. I want to know if I can just take out the EGR altogether(I read that it does not do much). can someone please tell me what to do (the dealer said I had to buy it again, but just because of a gasket?) what do I do?

get some of the orange high temp RTV sealant. I had a leaking gasket also, but this did the trick.

Nobody makes the gasket? I find that a little odd...

The hi temp copper RTV might work ok, the EGR isnt quite as hot as the exhaust manifolds and it sorta works on those.
