HELP!!! Cheepest way to make legal muscle?

I'm poor, but; I love my car. It's an 84 TA L69 305 h.o. Almost compleatly stock except for the 2 1/2" header back pipes w/ gutted cat and flowmaster muff, holly reman 4 bbl. carb. but I don't know it's rating, 700r-4 and ws6. What can I get to make it GO? I'm lookin at new intake, cam, carb packages (form summit or jegs can't remember at this point, just keep looking an dreamin) Gotta try to keep it under $400, like i said, poor. Also have to TRY (only try) to keep it legal.

Ever considered N20? It the cheapest way to make your car go REAL fast. It might even be legal in your area

And after a few passes with N20, you fry your hoses, and you have a big puff of smoke and the guy you were racing, laughs at you.

as long as you are properly tunned you can run NO2 safetly. I know this guy who sprays 125 hp shots through his stock LO3 and he has gone through 14 bottles so far and still runs fine.

Is there anything other than NO2? I'd really like my engine to breathe better before I put nitros on it. Plus how can I find out if it's legal. A friend of mine runs NO2 but he gets away with it cause he does his own inspections. He says it is but he thought he could send his 89 firebird to "SS up in Canada" I think he ment SLP but I don't really know with him anyway.
