Look on the front edge of your manifold base. You'll see it there.....I think...

I am not an expert at this but it seems there might be a communication problem here. It's been my understandning that the cts at the front edge of the manifold base was the one which told the engine what temperature that car was at. He said that the box for his CTS said fan switch(it should then have just one wire for it?). That means it should go in the passenger side between the 6 and 8 spark plugs. Which CTS are you trying to replace? I could be way off here so somone please correct me if I'm wrong. Arnold
yes it has only 1 wire... i think they gave me the wrong thing... i wanted the sensor that tells the ecm what temp the car is at... does this have more then 1 wire?
Or does the fan switch (located btw the 6 and 8 cyl) tell the ecm what temp the engine is at?

Okay, here's the deal guys.
Your CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor) is a two-wire temperature sensor located at the front edge of your manifold base. This is the sensor that supplies coolant temperature readings to your ECM to determine cooling fan on/off times, open/closed loop, and a couple other parameters.
The one-wire temperature sensor found either between the #1 and #3 cylinders or the #6 and #8 cylinders (Both areas will work), is used to provide gauge readings on your instrument panel and also for the temp light.
MJ, You are in need of the CTS. The parts store gave you the wrong part. You need the two-wire sensor.
Hope this helps
