New Problem related to Timing Chain

Ok after the timing chain was installed, the car ran great, better then ever. there was a clanking noise coming from each valve cover, but i figured that was from those bad lifters.... but hear this...

the car idles weird, at around $450-650, and it fluctuates even at speed it'll be at 2k, then 1900 within half a second....

It'll stall at lights now.... Performance is gone....

The car seems to backfire from the intake also, i'll hear whammmm whammmm, when under the hood coming from that darn thing, could my valves of gotton bent that badly...

also, my oil pressure has dropped significantly.... i'm tlaking it alwasy idled witha 45 before now its at 30, and 45 while driving....

what could cause such a masacure?

Did you touch your rocker arms? Check to see if the valves are adjusted correctly? Any pushrods bent? Are you sure the gears on the timing chain were set correctly?

In the previous post you said all the pushrods were replaced. Just the bent ones or all of them? Was it making that clanking noise before?
I'd pull the valve covers and make sure the rockers are adjusted correctly.

Yes.

As for the rest, I really don't care.

Well here the thing once we got done i took it for a spin, i let the motor idle for 15 minutes to circulate the oil....

i took it for a spin and it ran better then ever, then all the sudden it starting sounding like there was a reallybad exhaust leak, then i stopped at a light and it stalled, started right back up but then i noticed it idleing very crappy, and the oil prussure was low....

Valves. Double check your rocker arms and re-adjust them, if not, you got some bent valves and are asking for some head work at the very least.

A valve doesn't have to be "badly" bent to cause problems.
.0005" is bad enough.
The valves most likely to make contact would be the intakes cause they're the biggest. That would cause a POP-POP-POP sound through the intake if they leaked.

Gack! Ack!! Must.... resist..... aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggg.........

I'll at least be lazy...

1. Remedial English classes. As many as you can afford.
2. Shut off car, grab tools (if this is difficult, goto #15), open driver door (if this gives you fits, goto #13) and take a deep breath. Good.
3. Buy a Dictionary and a book along the lines of ‘Writing English Properly for Dummies’. Read.
4. Take off the cover to the aldl. (If you have no clue what this is please goto #13.)
5. Buy a book along the lines of ‘Common Sense for Dummies’. Read.
6. Place your GM OBD I ECM Diagnostic Trouble Code Retrieval Tool in the proper terminals (if you have no idea what the **** I'm talking about you haven't used the search at all, stop being a lazy *****).
7. Remedial Arithmetic classes.
8. Any codes? Write down codes.
9. Re-read aforementioned book.
10. Look up trouble codes in our handy dandy Faq... you did read this right?
11. Purchase a dunce cap, put in corner with Dunce stool for some motivation.
12. Now using your new found abilities from the book read in #5 and reread again in #9 you should be able to deduce at least some idea of what the p[roblem may be or at least may stem from.
13. Purchase Manuals for your car such as the Haynes, Chilton’s, AAA, ‘Maintaining Your Car for Dummies, WD guide to under your hood, etc. As many as you can afford. Read. (If you arrived here from #2 or #4 goto #1)
14. If you can't figure it out from all you've learned and can not deduce anything using the books you have presumably purchased, *THEN* post some drivel here. After searching.
15. Purchase a few books along the lines of ‘How to Use Tools for Dummies’, ‘How to Identify Tools for Dummies’ etc. (is that a publicly traded company?). Read. (If you arrived here from #2 goto #1)
16. If the problem persists try and noarrow it down to one problem at a time and then learn how to SEARCH, , cerco, psaxé, buscar, busca, suche, etc., etc.
17. Purchase the workbook for the aforementioned ‘Common Sense for Dummies’ book… make that two. Complete one.
18. Once pinpointed troubleshoot (Check for proper wire routing, plugs ok? cap rotor wires ok? etc.). Wha? Ok, go to the next step.
19. If you can’t troubleshoot, don’t know it’s meaning (you bought a dictionary right?), can’t place the context etc., stop working on your poor, poor car!
20. PLEASE start trying to learn some **** on your own instead of expecting everyone on here to hold your hand. You have the desire, now FOCUS!
21. If you keep having problems with it sell it to me for a dollah and I'll at least take care of it better than you do. I certainly won't let the hood fly up while driving, won't cover it in fur, or blow the motor.

Just give it up man. Why wont the mods just ban this guy and get it over with. I bet he has started 25% of the locked threads in the last couple months. What a waste of bandwidth, oxygen, and zygotes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe these two posts qualify Sahne as a troll/liar...a ban-worthy offense:

Coop'll be sad to see Mike Sahne Stiltner go. He's gotten most of his post total from Mike's blatant stupidity!
