random missing and pinging
I just replaced teh plugs in my T/A and it misses at idle speed. Im positive that i gapped them right and are the right plugs. im wondering if its some emissions crap. It also does some other things that may be related, like pinging at normal operating temp, and it has some hesitation at wot. The idle speed is weird too; it idles at like 700 out of gear when cold, and 1000 when its warm. I dunno, its weird an ne 1 help? i looked and there wasnt nething like this

How old is the rest of your ignition system? Coil? Ign. control mod.? Pickup coil?

the rest of my ignition system is stock from '86 except the wires which I replaced last year. Could that really have something to do with it bieng that it idled fins b4 i replaced the plugs? The only problem i had b4 i replaced the plugs was a bad mis under load, and less low end power, but now all that is fine, it just misses at idle.

What kind of plugs/ wires? What condition is your cap and rotor in? Did you test the resistance in the wires yet? Have you tried swapping back to the old stuff to remove the plugs/wires from the equation?
