You might try getting you battery tested just to be safe, even though it is new. Also, when it won't start, do the interior lights and accessories come on? You might try looking at a bad battery connection. Just a few thoughts. ~ Arnold

You sound like another person with a VATS problem.

Do you have a little black nugget in your key?

When you turn the key, does the "SECURITY" light stay on? '

It's hard to give an accurate diagnostic without knowing anything about your car. (Year, fuel delivery system, etc.)

Check the Theft key system, they wear out and what happens is they get a reading that it isn't the right key so the starter won't enable for about 15 minutes and everything will work in the car but the starter won't turn over. To get a replacement cylinder and key I think was around $60 about a year ago. It is great if the security system works but not on the owner!!

I have had the same problem for 2 weeks but it doesnt do it all the time ,I think its a wire connection at the starter or a problem with my 14 year old ignition switch.
