What should I set my timing at???
I believe I currently have my timing set at 8 degrees BTDC. I run premium fuel only. Should I leave it there or can i give it a couple more degrees? What do you guys have your timing at? All mods are listed in sig. Thanks in advance.

Whatever the custom PROM wants. It SHOULD have already had the spark advance optimized. Most eprom writers generally set the "Base timing" to the stock setting necessary for the car. In the case of TPI, 6* BTDC for TPI.
Altering the base timing of the distributor (especially on an optimized eprom) may induce knock incidences. It's amazing how much knock retard is pulled from a TPI @ WOT...seems to be a common observation when a person first hooks up their car to a scan tool and boot it. Many guys consider these knocks incidences to be false as they are inaudible. Others believe the knock is actually occuring at the early stages and the ecm is just being too agressive in its retard.
Regardless, when the ecm sees these "knock incidences" (real or false), the ecm generally pulls out more spark advance than the the little extra you gave it. Kind of like taking 1 step forward and 3 backwards.
If you REALLY believe you need that extra 2*, then get your eprom re-done.
