Rod Knock or bad PS pump?

Well since it has been cold, I have had this odd vibration/rattling/grinding coming from my engine bay. It can actually be felt through the floorboards when I am driving around, on the drivers side. It only does it when it's cold, and usually goes away, or subsides, when the car gets to operation temp. My question is, what are the signs of rod knock or could this be a possible spun bearing? I am pretty sure it is my PS pump, but I have yet to get in there and check it out....still too cold outside. Could some of you engine guru's give me some warning signs of spun bearings, rod knock, and bad PS pump so I can determine what this annoying noise could be to fix it? Thanks.

Yup, for some folks opening the hood is the first step, for others it's the last step.

Somehow...people fixed cars before the Internet was around. Wonder how?
