Help with temp guage

my temp guage isnt working. it moves when i turn the car on but doesnt read temp. i know it is the wire that goes to the temp sensor because i can see that its not there. my problem is i dont know where the wire went or what it looks like. i have a ton of egr wires hanging everywhere so i can figure it out. please post pics of what the wire looks like and where it goes into the firewall. i just put a new cooling system on so i am not going to run until i am sure what temp is.

Originally, the temperature sender for the dash guage was installed in the LH head, between the #1 and #3 exhaust ports. There is a single green wire with a flag type connector to attach to this sender.
