Why won't a Corvette L98 oil pan work?

Why? Because it's not designed to clear the y-pipe the ways the Camaro's is supposed to. Damn.

Do I really have to get a '86+ ThirdGen oil pan? Then I have to pull the old pan out? C'mon.... Why does it taunt me? All I'm trying to do is get it going.

Anyways, I've attached a not-so-clear pic of the Corvette oil pan saying "Hello" to the Camaro TES header.

I don't think the oil pan is the problem, can't tell for sure from the picture, but it seems the header's down angle is off. I also noticed if that's what it is, the O2 bung should be facing the pan, or the towards the font.

I have a Milodon 7-qt Low-profile stroker pan on my 88', and the only problem I had was no cleareance on the pan side of the crossover, I squeezed the pipe into an oval shape for clearance.
I'll post a picture from the same angle as your's tonite.

It doesn't fit cause it's a vette pan, not a F-Body. Just the way it is, not much you can do about it but swap the pan and curse.

Meh. It's always something with this car.

Oh well, there's a junkyard by me that has a used pan out of a pickup. I'll be picking it up tomorrow for $30. At least the Camaro shares it's pan with a boatload of other cars.
