Alt. pulley removal?

I am trying to remove the alt. pulley on my TPI. I put the impact gun on it and a screwdriver to keep the fan from turning. When
it turns the fan stays still but the nut and the alt. guts still turns.
There is an allen head in the end of the pulley shaft does this have something to do with it?

Hold the shaft with the allen wrench and turn nut with regular wrench.
