im having intake manifold problems

hey guys,i have a weird problem going on with my car.i have a edelbrock perfomer manifold(dual plane)for my 87 up center
bolt heads.ive had for like 14 month never a problem.but
now my car boggs and misses ,like it backfires out the tbi.and they told that it my manifold that is bad?i said how can a manifold go bad if it has work perfect for thepast 14 months.so i need help to see u guys know wats my problem or if any has expierince it?

Who are "they', that told you it was the manifold? Somtimes when an engine backfires through the carb, or T/B, it might have jumped time.

Your problem has nothing to do with your manifold. If it ran fine for 14 months logic alone should have told that the manifold was not the problem. Check your base timing. It sounds like the distributor bolt loosened up and your timing is all over the place. Your ECM will limp the car along even though the timing if off.

If it is not timing I would look into the fuel system.

i havent checked the timing yet,and fuel p is fineat idle but im gonna have to lift it and drive it so wat the fp does?

well my base timing is at 4* were i last left it.i read that some members problems was the pickup coil?wat exactly does it do?im gonna have to check fuel system carefully

well replace the whole disteibutor for a new and same problem
