Engine harness removal
Engine harness removal
I can;t figure out how to disconnect the engine harness where it goes through the fire wall on the driver side. It looks like a plug in type thing. Am I right or way off? By the way, car is an 84 Z-28.

There is usually a bolt through the middle of it. The plug will unplug itself as you turn out the bolt.
The bolt stays with the plug.

Engineboy is exactly right. The plug however is actually 2 plugs; one of them is the engine harness, the other the body harness (for lights etc.). They come apart after they are unplugged. The bolt has a 7mm head IIRC, it is right in the center of the plug.
