Can 041 heads be used of a 305
Ok guys now keep in mind, i do not know much about heads and there compatibilty with different engines, so this may sound like a dumb question. I bought a set of 416 heads off ebay, i took them too the machine shop to have them re-surfaced and cleaned, and the next day he called me and told me that one of them is cracked. So now i am hunting another pair. I found a set of worked 041's. Can i use them on my 305 and is it reccomended?

Any SBC will work but max intake valve size will be 1.94. The 2.02/1.60 valves will not fit inside the 305's bore.

Ok, i knew that it would bolt up and work, but i hear alot of people say that a 350 head on a 305 will lower the compression, or something like that.

Yes all heads with nothing greater then about 1.94" valve will work a 305. Will it be a good idea, or work well, no!
