An open-element airfilter with a K&N element would help.. Engine sounded meaner, and I definately felt a difference. Granted, it wasn't huge, but it was there. That'll only cost you about 40-50 bucks or so. However, the biggest bang for the buck you can get will probably come from getting headers, but those'll cost you several hundred dollars.

Add a good open-element airfilter, advance the timing from the stock 0 degree's to about 3 or 4 degree's advanced and then get a cat-back exhaust system.

Nickle and dime stuff just makes a bad factory setup better. An engine is an air pump. To make power you need to get more air into the engine so that you can burn more fuel. Everything else just compliments having more air/fuel to burn.

The biggest restriction to building power in a factory engine is heads. All the nickle and dime stuff won't build as much power as some good aftermarket heads.
