Question on Intake Manifold

Will a Performer RPM fit under a stock Firebird hood with a drop base air cleaner??

If it helps,on my 84 TA I used a Performer RPM with Edelbrock 600 cfm Performer carb with a 10 inch Edelbrock open element air cleaner. I don't know if it was drop base or not, but the air cleaner stud was way taller than it had to be and I had no problems at all.

If you have the power bulge hood on the 84 you will be fine. I have an RPM, Holley 600 and a 3/4" nitrous plate. I have a drop base aircleaner. It just fits.

Yea Im running the stock manifold + adapter plate "taller than a performer" with a 14x3 drop base no problems. The 10x2in edelbrock mentioned above actually sits higher than the 14x3 drop so I wouldent reccomed it.

Good to know it will fit!! Thanks for the responses. For those of you that added the RPM, was it on the stock engine? and if so, how much of a difference did it make (this is going on my 350, but i'm still curious)

my engine seems a bot quicker on the stock 305, especially at higher rpms. though I'm sure there will be quite a bit of differece once I've done more modifications.
