Hydraulic lifters are spring loaded. Do you know how to adjust hydraulic lifters?

Since they are new they need to be soaked in oil over night, then take a pushrod and pump the lifter by depressing the plunger a few times. This will prime the lifter with some oil, but for the lifter to fully pump-up it will have to be run - hence the lifter clatter at initial start up. If you'll notice - on a lifter that has been run it is almost impossible to depress the plunger.

I thought if you put the lifters in oil over night that would void any warrainties that were on it? Is this true?

It shouldn't. That's all that's in the lifter when the engine's running. That's how oil gets up to the rocker arms, valve tips, springs, etc. I don't think they (the company) would ever know that you did it if you did.

Actually oil is all your supposed to use on roller lifters. You could prolly use a small amount of assembly lube on the rollers/cam lobes, but don't use that thick moly cam break in stuff, thats only for flat tappets.\
