Hot starting problems
Hot starting problems
Well this problem has only started to happen in the last few weeks. When I switch my car off after a long run, if I try to start it again after say 10 minutes the starter motor is totally dead. All the power accesories (radio etc) are still working but it just wont crank. If I then leave the car for 20 minutes and try again everything is back to normal. This fault is only happening sometimes and seems to be very intermittent.
When the fault happens, the starter motor is completely dead. No solenoid click, no cranking, no nothing! It is beginning to **** me off!
I put in a new battery today since the old one was over 3 years old, but then the fault happened again. I am thinking that I need a new starter motor?

The same thing happened to my truck, it is rather common with small block chevy with headers. I just bought a new high torque starter and the problem was solved
