New engine startup woes
So I put the distributor in and I dont think I have that timed right, but that isnt what's bothering me.
After I hit the starter I'll go over to the engine bay to mess with the timing and I'll hear a bunch of clicking. It's either coming from the carb, or from the starter... I have bad ears so I really cant figure it out right now... but I was just wondering if this was normal? I dont think it is?
BTW, this is BASICALLY on a LG4... just with more cubes
.
Also, I have the ground from the battery to the chassis and the chassis to the passenger side head grounds on, and the one from the battery to the alternator bracket on, but I'm almost positive there's supposed to be one to the engine... would this cause a no-start condition?
I have a few grounds that arent connected right now, and my distributor has some wires that arent connected, are there any wires that... if not connected to the distributor will keep the car from running? There's one on the opposite side of the EST connector and I am unsure of what it does, and I cant find the connector for it. I plan to, but was hoping to deal with it after I found that the car would start atleast.
Thanks for any help

Thanks Vader.
I got the motor started. I put the distributor in again (took me about 7 times to get it in right and look like it was factory lol), and fired it up. All I've got is a huge valve cover leak to fix, and then put some header gaskets on and run 'er !
