Steering wheel on angle

When the wheels are pointing foward the top of the steering wheel is around 1'oclock.
What caused this and is it a big deal to fix?

either whell was takin off and not put on straight or you more than likely need an alignment

Mine does it too (mine is at about 2 o'clock) and I saw another Camaro who's was turned at about 1 o'clock. Get an alignment, drive it home, pull the wheel and put it back on straight. They can 'walk' over time... The only thing is, you're going to need a wheel puller, these things are on there. (thats the only reason why mine isn't fixed yet.)

Your talking about the steering wheel that needs to be taken off and back on right? I was looking at the manual and I dont know how that fixes anything. Is the shaft it fits onto toothed so that it can be adjusted?

Does anyone have any pics either real or from a manual, the one in the hayes isnt all that clear.

Thanks for the help, driving gets a little wierd with this wheel lol

IIRC the wheel is keyed, only goes on one way.

Get an alignment. Being off that little is really tiny, it may even be less than one turn on the tie rod sleeves (that is, if they adjust them one turn, it may be off by more than that, the other way)

Make sure you tell the alingment shop you want the wheel centered when the job is done.

If you're absolutely sure your alignment is okay, then you can adhust the tierod ends yourself...whatever you do to one side, do the opposite to the other..i/e you turn one side in a 1/2 a turn, you'll need to turn the other out a 1/2 a turn.

when I did my headers my friend took off the steering shaft and didn't mark it right for reassembly now I have the same problem but it can be fixed by doing what he did but in the reverse order with a little trial and error
