no speedo
i did a few searchs and didnt find much to help. i unhooked my dads ecm and a few more nearby connectors. the ecm hasnt been used since a year ago when he swapped engines. hes got a 86 ta. originally it was the carbed 305, automatic.
like i said the ecm is not being used. however the only thing that doesnt work now that stuff is disconnected is his speedo. is the ecm responsible for the speedo, or probably one of those other connections i unhooked?

theres a cable connected to the trans, its a screw in cable connected near the rear of the tranny, its controls the speedo. if thats on there, check the one connected to the actual speedo in the dash.

i hooked a few connectors back up and that didnt solve it. im pretty sure its a electric speedo, because as i crawled under it as much as far i could with out it raised i felt 2 wires going into a plug on the driver side of the tailshaft.
im going out of town for a while so ill hook stuff back up. and one day convert to a mechanical speedo. thanks guys.
