Q: Eliminating Redundant Temp Sensor

I'm not quite sure if this belongs in this topic or TPI...

I'm installing an 89 350 TPI motor into my 68 Camaro and am planning on using an electric fan. I want to use only one temperature sensor since I'm using only one electric fan. I assume I need to use the sensor that's in the front of the motor installed in the lower intake and not the one in the right side head... correct?

Thanks,
Roy

Yes, that is the correct sensor (front of intake) for the ECM, which then will send a signal to the primary fan relay.

But, I'd still wire in the one in the head too, if the ECM fails, or the CTS fails to read correctly, it may not tun on the fan.

Using a 2ndry fanswitch is a good safeguard to have. Even single fan factory setup use the fanswitch.

The 85-86 single fan setups use the CTS only.
