stripped heat sheild bolt
stripped heat shield bolt
does anyone have any ideas for me on this? The nut that holds on the heat shield is stripped, ive used bolt loosener spray, 6 pt sockets, and craftsman bolt out sockets. Today i tried just dremeling the nut off without much luck. I can totally destroy this nut because all im worried about is the header bolt which is fine. I dont have air tools or any exotic tools.... And theres only about 2 inches of clearance between the bolt and the AC/heater box whatever its called
thanks
thanks

Cut the heat shield around the bolt...that will at least get the shield off for ya..then you can worry about the bolt later...
are you trying to get the shield off?

Hack/wack it off any way you need to/can. It isn't going back on again.
Just take care to avoid collateral damage.

You woould need a good metal bit or a few old bits you dont care about trashinng..lol....if you can hit the nut with a punch to get a divot for the drill bit to ride in...put a drop of oil on the bit tip to keep it moving freely..and drill er through....might take a while depending on bit sharpness...but itll work if you got the clearance
