Radiator Advice Please!
Hey Guys, my radiator just started leaking pretty bad. Anybody have any suggestions on where to buy my new radiator, or what is a good one to buy. I want a direct drop in replacement, nothing that needs to be modified. Are the stock radiators on a 5.7 GTA 2 core? Because I would like to step up to a bigger radiator, if it bolts right in without any mods. I need to get this thing fixed ASAP,or else I got to have the old lady driving me back and forth to work, and that aint to cool. LOL
Thanks!!!!
Mike

I got my 3 core at autozone, direct bolt in. I forgot the price, but it was also the cheapest around.

Good advice above, it will be the aluminum/plastic single-wide-row variety, it's very effective. Get a new radiator cap while you're at it, and put in new rad hoses, while it's easy to change them.

Thanks for the info & help guys! Hey 91B2L, I ended up calling everywhere, Autozone, Discount auto, etc. I finally called Napa auto, and they were the cheapest around. They wanted $104 for a Modine. I have heard of Modine, but never heard of the other brands from the other places. I decided to call one of my friends who owns a shop, and he highly recommended the modine. He said he could get it cheaper for me. I ended up getting the same Modine radiator that they had at Napa, but I ended up getting it through my friend for $89 with no tax! That was a pretty good deal. The model # is 951. The funny thing is this radiator is the only one that Modine puts out for the 5.7 for I believe the year 1987-1990, and it is considered a one row!? That seems real weird. I guess instead of 3 cores, it is one large row. Is yours like this 91B2L?? The other places I called said their radiators were three core. I am going to post another question in case you don't read this.
Thanks again all
Mike

Try calling 1-800-RADIATOR. A stock replacement radiator was delivered to my door the very next day.

Thanks Guys! Did you have any problems bolting up your cooling fan or (Fans) to the new Modine? I have dual cooling fans, and they are real real close to the radiator (stock one) I even see a rub mark where the one fan must have been rubbing a little at one time.
Thanks again!
