starter HELP!
I have a 89 firebird that i have freshly installed a 350 but i used the 305 flywheel and trans. My problem is that i am forced to use a 305 starter but they keep burning up. I have 153 toothed flywheel. Is there anyone who has done this swap and what did you do to solve this problem.

according to what your telling me, my starter wont burn up, but this is the third one im on. so your statement must be wrong at some point.
post 1, 2, and 3 and you are flaming the guy for trying to help you. Buy a high torque starter from summit if you want quality, spend MONEY. Or continue with your pep boys pos starters.
All small block starters are essentially the same, except for bolt patterns. There are two options, straight or diagonal bolt patterns. It matters not what SBC starter you buy 305, 350, 400 as long as you buy the right bolt pattern. Your 305 stock starter is my 350 stock starter is her 400 stock starter. That was what he was trying to tell you.
