car pooping out?? am i misfiring or is tranny about to go??

Ok, i was coming back from the Home Depot, and i was on the highway going about 45 MPH and i noticed that the car was kinda jerking a little bit, kinda felt like the Torque Convertor was unlocking and locking, so i gave it a little gas which usualy cures it, well this time it didn't, it kept jerking, and the RPM's were fluctuating 200+-. so i let off the gas, and it does the same thing, except at a lower RPM range, with the T.Q. still locked. so i put it in netruel and the RPMS still did that, and u could feel it. but however, when i came to a stop, and put it in netruel, it idled fine. It does this jerking think in both 3rd and OD.

I replaced the coolent temp sensor today, but im almost 100% sure i hooked up everythign back correctly. is that sensor next to the coolent temp sensor the Knock Sensor?

anyone got any clues weather its my Tranny or just missfiring? No codes as of yet.

Not sure which coolant sensor you replaced, but your knock sensor is in the block right by the starter. As for tranny or misfire, I think it's a good sign that the rpms fluctuate in neutral because if it were your tranny I don't think you'd have that problem in neutral. Sounds more like a misfire. But maybe you should post this in the tranny section too.

You know what you might want to do, you might want to check out your fuel pressure coming from the fuel pump, or replace your in line fuel filter, sometimes when it is dirty your car will only act up in higher RPM's. Although my TBI car shoots less pressure than your TPI car, mine was doing the same thing, until i changed out the fuel filter. When you take off the filter turn it the opposite direction and tap it on a white piece of paper, and watch all the junk just fall out of it. hope this can help you in any way at all, good luck

hey i have a question i was just about to post that is just like this one, except a little different, mine is doing the same thing, except it does it idling, city driving. where ever it wants to. it doesnt do it when its cool, and when it starts up, it acts like the carb is trying to adjust the idle constantly (its a CC Qjet), varys within like 100 rpm. any ideas for me? its a 350 with a 262 cam, pefromer intake, nothing tooo hot.

Same damn problem here, what's up with that? Maybe the Afghan's are tainting the fuel supply.
If anyone has "the cure," lemme know.

I am telling you, your fuel pump dies slowly, and you will never even know it or believe me until you check it out. But before you check the fuel pressure, check the fuel filter and that should help a whole lot. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter, or your fuel pump??

Is that with the vac line to the FPR disconnected? I don't have the manual with me, but I am pretty sure to check pump pressure, you need to disconnect the vac line (and plug it) to the FPR, and block the fuel return line (Just temporarily). You should only need to turn the key to on and have the fuel pump cycle for it's 2 secs to see. 44 with all that done is low, I am pretty sure mine will pull all the way to 60 psi or maybe even higher (don't really want to know hehe)
Corry

Edit: Under normal operationg conditions (nothing blocked, no vac lines disconnected)it should be around 44 psi (just thrown in to avoid confusion)
